Farm shock at Ginger Boy's bountiful bunny birth...

When is a boy not a boy? We discovered the answer a fortnight ago when Ginger, one of our three original bunny brothers, gave birth to a healthy litter of seven kittens.
Despite gender checks from several in the bunny know, Ginger boy had actually been Ginger girl all along. Mother and babies are all doing well; Ginger's brothers Nibbler and Silver are said to be "still in shock, but coping".
Ginger joins Honey Bunny as our second yummy bunny mummy. Honey's brood of fluffy fellas are now three weeks old and working on their jumping skills.
Ginger showed no signs of impending motherhood before the birth and has already regained her pre-bunny bump figure.

    Babies everywhere!

Visitors to Apollo Bay Family Farm got more than they bargained for on the weekend when the goats started kidding around - literally.
Staff and guests kept a watchful eye over the three mothers-to-be, who managed between them to produce five kids in as many hours. Not bad for an afternoon's work!

    Bush Dance a huge success.

Apollo Bay P12 Parents and Friends group are revelling in the success of their first event fundraiser of the year, with over 300 people attending the Bush Dance Hoedown at Apollo Bay Family Farm on July 22.

The aim of the night was to bring together performers to celebrate Australian heritage, introduce children to new experiences and bring the community together to dance, sing and have fun with the evening's special guests, visiting Japanese exchange students from Osaka.

After whip cracking, a didgeridoo session, traditional songs and an inspired recital of "The Man From Snowy River", Ken Hook got everyone onto the shed floor for line, square and circle dances.
Well done to everyone involved for making it such a great night for a great community. Yee Ha!

Lamb birth a feature for Melbourne family

T he birth of twin lambs Cocoa and Espresso was witnessed in by an extended family from Melbourne visiting the Great Ocean Road and Apollo Bay Family Farm. With hardly a cough the ladies watched with interest and empathy as the ewe gave birth, while the children looked on in horror and disgust at the "yucky, wet, red stuff".
